As the mother of six children, I value family relationships as the main building block of society. I am therefore acutely aware of the effect each legal circumstance can have on individuals and families. Even when the family unit is experiencing change through divorce, I believe in maintaining dignity and respect through the process. While divorce is always difficult, mature adults can work together so that the divorce process can empower the parties to begin the healing process and move toward closure. Focusing on the best interests of the children involved, a collaborative divorce involves the parties and their attorneys working together to achieve the best possible outcome without any painful and contentious litigation in the courtroom.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Human Services, and attended law school at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. I am bilingual English/Spanish and am passionate about increasing access to our justice system, and collaborative divorce, for marginalized or underserved populations. I opened my own firm in 2019 focused on strengthening individuals and families through zealous advocacy in the areas of family and immigration law.
