I am proud of my Iowa roots and I am dedicated to assisting my clients with their legal needs. I cultivate strong personal relationships with the people I represent and help them through the numerous difficult situations that can arise in family law cases. I was born and raised in Holstein, Iowa, the second oldest of four children. Living in a house with five other people, a dog, and all the activity that comes with, I learned very quickly how to be a vocal advocate for important issues to be heard. As a third-generation attorney, my core values are service and helping others.

My husband and I are both small town kids who settled in Des Moines, Iowa. We met at the University of Northern Iowa where I completed my undergraduate work, before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota to attend Hamline University for law school. After living in three different states, we returned to our home state and we have made the Beaverdale neighborhood of Des Moines our home along with our two sons. We carry our small-town values into our daily life by being active members of our community. In our free time, we can be found cheering on the Hawkeyes and enjoying a round of golf. While handling numerous high-conflict trials and appellate cases for family law clients it became clear to me that there has to be a better way to diffuse conflict and help people during these life changing events. Though I maintain a trial practice, I have found that the best outcomes are those where people work together on a plan to move their family forward through times of trouble. No family is healed when parties are so entrenched that life-long wounds are created.

The goal of a divorce should never be a winner take all, but rather what is best for all. It is possible to be a zealous advocate while balancing the needs of your family. It is my priority to assist you in creating the most peaceful and equal outcome that can be achieved.

Let’s sit down and talk.
